‘Paper-thin relationships’ sounds like a double entendre. Cuz straws can be paper-thin, but also the relationship is literally unstable. Nice work. This unreliable-narrator style matches my Holden instincts.

Came here from Emil Ottomen's autopsy of this piece and I think I am staying. loved every minute of it. This is such a funny piece! "Sword Guy" is the male equivalent of "Crazy Cat Lady", but far more deserving of derision. I mean, a cat will destroy your furniture too, but at least they are warm when you cuddle with them.

My mouth hung open as a read "113 swords." At first I thought it were only a couple, and then I burst out laughing thinking about the arduous amount of time it'd take to actually practice swinging with closed eyes ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTEEN SWORDS, sleeping outside. I could only imagine how the narrator smells!

Great, great work!

This was terrific! Now I am questioning if writing is my "swords".... eesh

Thank you for reading! I’d say yes lol writing is your ‘swords’ in the best way. Ugh yeah, gotta tap into the flow state and trust. I’ve been overthinking insanely and writing so slow now after the information overload i put myself through. The first story was first attempt at writing and 100% flow. Everything else has been painstaking and wrought with rules or questioning myself etc. I think we gotta just keep going for it and not get hung up on blunders, just go go go. Been having less time to read/write - need to catch up with your latest.
